no post, no beep...cpu failure? by
dryOtto
Hi All,
I just put together an old AMD Athlon 1 Gig chip with a stick of 256DDR ram,
an old WDC HDD, a new case, and a new Gigabyte GA-7VKMP mobo.
After about an hour's worth of computing, (installing win2K, service packs,
browsing, etc) I was setting up a Win2K/RH7.1 dualboot, when I restarted...

Biggest bang for buck amd processor. by
Post Replies Here Please
Hi,
I was totally confused looking at the AMD model line for 32 bit the
other day. Different front side buses and different cpu cache sizes.
Of course the famous amd rating system is confusing to me at least.
Does anyone know a site that has ratings for the best bang for the
buck amd 32 bit...

For Trade: Athlon 1.4 266 FSB for 200 FSB by
Brandon Jones
I recently bought an Athlon 1.4 ghz CPU model no. A1400AMS3C. I assumed
(incorrectly) that my motherboard (a Gigabyte GA-7ZX) would support the 266
FSB as well as the 200, but it doesn't, leaving me with a processor that
only reads at 1.05 ghz. I would like to trade this CPU with the 200...

Help me choose a motherboard by
Daniel
Hi,
I'm upgrading my current motherboard, since my XP2100+ processor died, and I
decided to get a 3200+ to replace it.
I don't want to spend out on an athlon 64 yet, so I thought I'd take
advantage of the Athlon XP prices dropping due to the 64 coming out.
I've already ordered the 3200+ processor,...

Buffalo
Will this combo work. On the Asus site it says the highest is the 2100
Palomino.
If not, what is the main problem?
CPU core voltage?
Multiplier?
?
Thanks

letter "E" instead of "C" and my second hard drive the letter "C" instead of
"D". This can't be changed under Administrative Tools. Anybody have any
ideas how to reassign the correct letters without doing another...
