I added a new sata drive to my Win 7 32 bit Optiplex 980. The system drive is on Sata 0, the DVD RW is on Sata 1 and the new drive is on Sata 2. I enabled Sata 2 in the Bios. The system starts up and I can see the entire new drive (with all the data it had when in my dead XPS 600).
