hey..

i can't get this veo stingray (330V) to work no matter what i do. the
system is a freshly formatted gatway 2000, with windows 98. the cam
used to work fine, but ever since the reformat, it won't work. i
downloaded the latest from veo's website, and nothing. i tried
updating the driver by picking the CD location.. nothing.

i know something is messed up with the USB ports, b/c the USB printer
won't work either.

is there a general USB hub driver or something? the USB ports came
with the computer. i tried looking for gateway USB system drivers for
Win98 on www.driverguide.com, but no such luck.

i'm all out of ideas.. i hope you guys have some!

thanks, and if you would rather reply by email, the address is:

--thanks in advance!

You should have got a cd with all sorts of drivers on it for stuff on the
motherboard such as USB drivers, amongst other things... when you format
a system its not simply a case of loading up the OS again if you want a
system that runs as it "should". If you know what the motherboard is you
could possibly get the latest drivers from the manufacturers site.

Maybe you could suggest to her that you "take over" the system using
something like PCAnywhere or similar. That way you would be able to check
whether the USB drivers have been installed, or even install them if
you're feeling kind :). It's not easy trying to help out remotely
sometimes huh?

Just a thought... Gateway always supply a "system restore" disk...
anything required to restore the system fully should be on there,
including USB drivers. However, these cd's are usually generic, they have
more than one set of drivers depending on the motherboard, bios etc., so
you'd have to find out the board manufacturer and the bios maker.

In fact, a good starting point would be the Gateway model number. You
could get onto the Gateway support site and look for the technical
details for that model which should then point you to the correct drivers
that you need.

Hope some of this helps and good luck.
