any USB cam will do just fine, try and spend a little more and get a cam
that doesn't use CMOS technology for the lens. Also the mic in the cam is
sometimes not the best idea. Headphones with the mic is the best, as there
is an echo produced from the mic picking up the speaker output. Turn off all
background noise- music- TV- if you use the CAM/mic setup.

if you go with a mic rather than headphone/mic combination, get a
unidirectional mic. the omnidirectional mic in the logitech webcam is going
to pic up a lot of the speaker output and cause echo. You can limit the
echo with a unidirectional mic and eliminate it all together with headphones
rather than speaker output. you can get a mic for $10-15 that should work
fine.

All of the logitech cameras will work with any of the video conferencing
software. Some people have had problems with microsoft messenger and
different operating systems. microsoft messenger will not work if you have
a NAT router that doesn't support plug and play. Netmeeting will work
you'll just have to know how to make a call using the other persons IP
address. It's also possible to roll the version of Microsoft messenger back
so that it will make a netmeeting connection for you.
