Newbie here...advice please.

Just want to set up video conferencing
so I may keep in touch with my wife and two year old
when I travel.

I'd like to avoid dedicated conference servers and software
that relies on them.
Would prefer peer-to-peer.

Want a consumer-grade camera, preferably with embedded mike.
I was looking at the Intel® Pro Video PC Camera.
The reviews of the image quality and ease of the software setup
were attractive, but it seems outdated.

Don't need pan/tilt, etc...static is fine, but would pay extra
for image/audio quality.
Please recommend a hardware/software config that I can
set up in a day with USB and Win2K or XP.

Thank you kindly,
John

depends on how much yu wat to pay.....

and is it worth paying say £100 and gettig a static cam when yu could pay
£100

and get a smile cam....

pan and tilt but they have the most excellent picture quality...better than
most webcams...

if not a little small.....

the best ever webcam i have ever come across is the pc cam 300 (creative)

and i suggest using netmeeting for video conference

regards slayer
